At the OILS Hackathon in Zurich, I delivered a crash course on Design Thinking to support participants in approaching real-world sustainability challenges creatively and strategically. The goal was to provide students, researchers, and early-stage entrepreneurs with practical tools to navigate the ideation and problem-solving process during the hackathon.
Through fast-paced, hands-on exercises, participants learned how to frame problems from a human-centred perspective, generate innovative ideas, and rapidly prototype early concepts. The session helped teams gain clarity, avoid solution bias, and set a strong foundation for their hackathon projects. Many teams later applied these methods successfully during the competition, leading to more focused and impactful solutions.
